Sharing my Story with Ebony M. Watson

On today’s episode we have Ebony M. Watson.  Ebony is up and coming inspirational speaker who is eager to share her story of past struggles and abuse with teens and women around the world.  It’s never easy to share stories of struggles, feelings of low self-esteem and insecurities with groups that you are unfamiliar with, but Ebony goal is to share her raw stories and most private struggles with her audience.  One of the many struggles that she talks about is her experiences with in foster care.

During our conversation, we talk about her reasoning for wanting to share her story with the world.  How she overcame being physically and verbally abused while in foster care, which resulted in depression. I believe this episode will connect with all our listeners.  If you have ever been through something or currently going through an issue.  This episodes will let you know that you are not alone in your struggle.  We may not be experiencing the exact struggle, but there are people dealing with issues each and every day.  What I loved most about her story is how she didn’t allow her struggles to keep her from pursuing her dreams and goals.  Not only is she an inspirational speaker, but she also has her Masters in Social Work and is currently working within a school.

I hope you all enjoy this episode.  I pray that it inspires you to keep pushing through whatever is trying to keep you down.  You are more than a conqueror.

Nice for What

Ok if you haven't listened to the song "Nice for What" by Drake I need you to stop what your doing and click here (clean version). In this week's episode, I share with you my running experience during my 10 mile Broad Street Run.  Completing that race was such a great accomplishment for me.  I never imagined myself running 10 miles, but God spoke to me during that run and told me that if I apply this method of one foot in front of the other.  I will conquered my dreams sooner rather than later.

In the second part of this episode, I talk about how the song "Nice for What" is truly truly my anthem lol.  When I saw the hashtag #niceforwhat being used by Mrs. Kahlana Barfield Brown I wondered what she meant by that.  Then my cousin and few Philadelphia entrepreneurs made their own music video using this song and again I wondered who sung this song.  So one day after work I was listening to the radio, something I rarely do, and I heard the song.  I looked on my dashboard and saw the artist name and the song!!  I was sooo hype to have now put all the puzzle pieces together lol.

During the episode, I discuss how this song relates to me in more ways than one.  The song is empowering and motivating.  Majority of today's music doesn't shed light on women who are making positive moves within there communities, careers and lives.  The top of discussion these days about women mainly revolve around our body types and so on.  So for me this song is like a breathe of fresh air.  Mothers I encourage you to listen to this song with your daughter and have a conversation about the lyrics.

I would love to hear your thoughts about the song.  You can send your thoughts and comments to info@puregirlsinc.org and I will happily read and respond to your comments.

What is motivating you?

In this week's episode I talk about the importance of finding motivation within yourself.  With many of us, we look to social media to get inspiration for our homes, hair, lifestyles, career choices and much more.  We get inspired and motivated by the things we see, hear and touch.

But what happens when those things are no longer in front of you.  What is your daily motivation to be the best version of you?  What are some things you could say and do for yourself to ensure that you are working on your dreams.

Tune in for the 3 tips I provide on how to motivate yourself!!  Thank you for tuning and ENJOY!!

Level Up

Every New Year we set new goals and resolutions for ourselves, families, businesses and careers. The new motivational phrase that is being used on all social media sites these days is level up.  Level Up means to improve and grow in all areas of your life.  Many apply this phrase to their business, career, and persona goals.  Everyday we strive to be better version of ourselves each day.  We strive for empowerment and confidence each day.

Don't get my wrong anything and everything is possible through Christ who strengthens me, but to make the daily commitment to work towards long terms goals can be a bit frightening.  In this episode, I speak about how I plan to "Level Up" this year.  I have so many things that need my attention on a daily basis, but I am determined to figure it out.  Writing in my P.U.R.E. Moments journal has helped me to reflect and stay on task with my to-do's.  I hope you enjoy this episode and I will talk with you guys soon!

Phenomenally Yours,

Najah

P.S.  The "P.U.R.E. Moments" journal will be available for purchase on January 28th.

Are you afraid of the work?

In this week's episode, I talk about the challenges and struggles that we face when desiring to go after our dreams.  Making a dream come true is not an easy task and it takes a lot of commitment, belief and determination to have it come true.

During the episode, I provide you with two steps that I believe will help transform your mindset.  We are only 5 weeks away from 2018 and it's my goal to help shift your mindset as we roll into the new year.  I can honestly say that I am afraid of all the work that is head of me, but I am more afraid if I let another year go by with and still having the same excuses and reasons as to why I have not elevated.
